As the Lord called David from shepherd to King of Israel, so too did he raise a young shepherd named Anthony to become the leader of His Church.  During a crucial time in Church history, Pope St. Pius V oversaw the Church’s response to the Protestant Reformation (The Council of Trent), developed an important document outlining her teaching (Catechism), and called for a defense of Christian Europe which resulted in one of the most important military battles ever (The Battle of Lepanto).  Here in this video, you’ll learn more about the life and work of this saint and leader of the Church.
