Fr. Dan O’Mullane is the pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Boonton, New Jersey. He went above and beyond to tend to his flock in 2020 during the COVID pandemic. Confronted with lockdown restrictions, Fr. Dan asked, “How do we bring Christ to the people effectively?”  He installed a large shed outside the church, which he used to continue to make the Sacrament of Confession available. And that was just the start. Every Sunday at 9AM, he began holding outdoor Mass in a Walmart parking lot utilizing appropriate technology to allow parishioners to view and listen to the Mass remotely. He made the Sacraments available in these difficult times. He says, “we priests have to do everything we can to continue to provide for the people, there’s an art to doing it, but doing it is the most important thing.”
