Splitting of the Adam

If there is a word that sums up the main preoccupation of human beings in today’s society, it would be “identity.” But where do our ideas about who we are and the meaning of our lives come from? And what is the human body’s relationship to the “self”? In this video we will explore how the contemporary understanding of “selfhood” developed and critically assess its adequacy for understanding ourselves and our place in this world, as well as the dangers of reducing the body to an object of use and thereby reducing the person to one.
