Matt Pana: What is the Meaning of Life
The great thinkers of human history, as well as the world’s religions, have asked the questions "What is the meaning of life?" With regard to the last question about the meaning of life, the famous ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle, proposed an answer that has seemed to endure. He asserted that the meaning of life is to be happy. But what kind of happiness do we seek? And how can we attain it? Will it be found in pleasure, as most human beings seem to believe based on how they live? Will it be found in accumulating wealth and possessions? Will it be found in honor and by seeking recognition, admiration, fame, success, power, and influence? Or could we get to the end of our lives and get “everything we ever wanted” and still come up empty and disillusioned? Are we made for more than all of this? This video offers a response: yes, we are made for more! This is because we were created by God, who is love, for love. It is only in loving God and our neighbor that we discover the meaning of life and the key to true happiness.
